Ceramic Tile Installation Tips

Tile Installation Tips by Cosmos Flooring 323.936.2180
If you are a big do it yourself-er  You will probably find that being handy around the house which not only saves you hoards of cash, but also allows me to feel good about what it is you are creating. I am sure you take pride in your work and always do the best job possible. That way you won’t have to redo it!

Here are some tips I’ve learned in my day while working with ceramic tiles.

1.    Drywall is not a good base for your bathroom. It barely works for a kitchen back-splash  Dust free cement board, on the other hand, will last a much longer time. You can install it with screws or galvanized roofing nails.

2.    Always caulk before you tile. This prevents leakage. In corners create a small gap, about 1/8 inch wide as well as at other cement board seams. Silicone caulk is solid and won’t leak at all.

3.    Tools you need:  A tape measure, tile cutter, pencil, quarter by quarter inch V notched trowel, hammer, 8 feet of ¼ inch wood lattice strips, 6d finish nails, level, buckets, grout flout, grout sponge, and a 3 inch bladed knife.

Ceramic tile can be tricky to install correctly, but once it has been, it should last indefinitely. Ceramic tiles look great in your bathroom and in your kitchen. Companies such as Cosmos Flooring can help you achieve your idea considering your desire and budget.
